Land acknowledgement
Halton Region is located within the traditional territory of the Anishnaabe, the Haudenosaunee, and the Huron-Wendat and the treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. These lands are included in the Brant Tract Treaty (No.8, 1797) and the Ajetance Treaty (No.19, 1818).

Truth and Justice
As settlers living on stolen land, we recognize the historical and ongoing harms of colonialism and acknowledge that truth and justice are needed before reconciliation. We are grateful to the Mississaugas of the Credit for being the caretakers of this territory.

Grandmother’s Voice
Grandmother's Voice is as a body of unified Indigenous people creating a safe, secure community that advances education, knowledge, understanding of Indigenous cultures and practices. We are honoured to work alongside Grandmother’s Voice in Halton Region.
